Overview
Study at the department started in 1977, as archeology department was part of faculty of arts departments and in 1990the department is divided into two sections Egyptian archeology and Islamic archeology, then in 2000 conservation department is added to the two above mentioned departments 2016

prepare a distinguished graduate in the science of practical and theoretical Egyptian archeology to meet the needs of the labor market
Academic programs
Bachelor
- The bachelor if Egyptian archeology is granted after passing four academic years.
- Egyptian archeology departments accepts the secondary schools students of both literati and scientific sections.
- The bachelor if Egyptian archeology is granted after passing four academic years divided into eight semesters.
- The student chooses joining Egyptian archeology department since the first year of the faculty.
