A word from the Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs

My dear students of the Faculty of Archaeology, Sohag University
It is a pleasure for me and the faculty family to extend to you our sincere congratulations on the occasion of the start of the new academic year 2024-2025
Welcome to the Faculty of Archaeology, which was established by Republican Decree No. (1208) dated 4/12/2016 AD. It consists of three academic programs: the Egyptian Archaeology Program, the Islamic Archaeology Program, and the Archaeology Restoration Program
The faculty seeks to be distinguished scientifically and research-wise within the framework of comprehensive quality standards. It works to prepare graduates who are scientifically and practically qualified and who have acquired the scientific and professional skills required by the labor market in the archaeological field. It also works to achieve the goals of continuing education through the various and advanced scientific programs it offers
It aims to develop scientific research skills in the field of archaeological sciences and their conservation, and to achieve an effective partnership with civil society institutions in the field of community service and environmental development
Therefore, I am pleased to encourage you to study well and excel academically during your studies, and to benefit as much as possible from the expertise of your professors, who are a group of distinguished scholars who are keen to offer the best of their knowledge, excellence, and scientific and practical experience
I invite you to actively participate in all youth care activities at the faculty and university, including: sports, arts, religious, cultural, social, scouting, and scientific and recreational trips.

- Develop a plan for various activities (sports, social, cultural, and artistic) that suit students’ interests.
- Cooperate with the Student Union on various activities.
- Develop students’ hobbies by providing the necessary resources.

- Investing students’ free time and organizing it into meaningful activities that provide students with experiences that will benefit them throughout their lives.
- Encouraging a spirit of public service and instilling a sense of leadership among students through various camps, such as public service camps, cultural camps, recreational camps, and field trips.
